After I listened to Actress's Ghettoville
I thought I'd check out a few of the reviews that were floating around the internets. I was quite astonished by some of the reactions out there and even more astonished by my reaction to them. I've attempted to paraphrase the whole episode into a fictional conversation between myself and the rest of the world, entitled Me vs. The Rest Of The World.
A conversation between two semi-obscure historical figures, one being Italian activist & publisher Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, the biographical subject of Neon Neon's 2nd album Praxis Makes Perfect
. The other being Mr John Delorean, the subject of Neon Neon's previous album Stainless Style.
He invented the Delorean.
After 11 albums, countless EPs, collaborations and side-projects both secret & solo, Autechre are extremely close to being called the mega-stars of experimental electronica - if that were at all possible in this most challenging of all sub-genres. Heaven knows it's beyond me, I just gave Kate Nash
